A Note on Our Process

We approach consignment as both a curatorial and commercial process. Each piece is evaluated not only for its individual value, but also for how it fits within our broader collection, brand aesthetic, and client base.

Our goal is to present your item(s) in a way that maximizes both appeal and likelihood of sale, while maintaining the standards and integrity of IDLE HOUR.

Pricing & Sales Approach

All pricing is determined by IDLE HOUR based on market conditions, comparable sales, condition, and demand.

While we always aim to achieve the strongest possible result, successful sales often require flexibility. As part of our process:

• Pricing may be adjusted over time
• We may accept offers below the initial listing price
• We participate in promotions, trade sales, and third-party platforms (including Chairish)

As a general guideline, offers around 75% of the listing price are considered commercially reasonable and may be accepted.

By consigning with IDLE HOUR, you authorize us to make these pricing and sales decisions on your behalf.

Our Role

IDLE HOUR operates in the capacity of a dealer and curator, not a passive marketplace.

We manage:

• Pricing strategy
• Photography, presentation and styling
• Marketing and platform placement
• Buyer communication and negotiation
• Shipping and fulfillment

This centralized approach allows us to act efficiently, maintain consistency, and provide a seamless experience for both consignors and buyers.

Communication

We are always happy to share insight and context regarding your item(s). However, to ensure efficiency and consistency, all final decisions regarding pricing, marketing, and sale are made by IDLE HOUR.
